House rules
Terms of use · last updated August 30, 2026
Yuzh is a food diary you can share with people you choose. These are the rules for using it. They are short on purpose, and we mean all of them.
The short version: be a person. Don’t post things that would make someone’s day worse. Don’t pretend to be somebody else. If someone is doing either of those to you, report them — we read every report and act within 24 hours, and you can block them yourself immediately.
Who can use Yuzh
You need to be at least 13 years old. If you are under the age of majority where you live, a parent or guardian needs to agree to these rules on your behalf. Don’t use Yuzh if we have previously removed your account.
Your account
An account is optional — Yuzh works entirely offline without one. If you make one, it uses Sign in with Apple, and you pick a handle. Keep your device and your Apple ID secure; anything done from your account is treated as done by you.
Handles are first come, first served. We may reclaim a handle that impersonates someone, that is being used to abuse people, or that squats a name in bad faith. We may also reserve handles that would be confusing or unsafe for someone else to hold.
What you put in Yuzh
Your food diary is yours. Your photos, your notes, your ratings, your restaurants — you own all of it, and we make no claim on it.
You give us permission to store your content and to show it to the people you have approved, which is the only way the app can do the thing it does. That permission ends when you delete the content or your account. We do not use your content to advertise to you, we do not sell it, and we do not show it to anyone you have not approved.
You are responsible for what you put in. Only upload things you have the right to upload, and remember that photographs can contain other people.
Nothing here is public
This is worth stating plainly, because it is how Yuzh answers a question other apps answer with moderation: there is no feed, no discovery, no search for people, and no public profile. Nothing you log is visible to anyone who has not sent you a request that you personally accepted. Friending always requires an ask and a yes — even scanning someone’s QR code only pre-fills a request that they still have to approve.
That is the structural filter. It means the worst thing anyone can do to you here requires you to have let them in first, and it means you can end it in one tap.
The rules themselves
Don’t use Yuzh to do any of this. There is no tolerance for it, and no warning shot for the serious ones.
- Harassment or abuse. Threatening, bullying, stalking, or persistently contacting someone who does not want to hear from you.
- Hate. Content that attacks or demeans people over race, ethnicity, national origin, religion, disability, sex, gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, or age.
- Sexual content. Pornography or sexually explicit imagery. Anything sexualising a minor is reported to the authorities and the account is removed permanently, without exception.
- Violence. Graphic violence, gore, or content that encourages self-harm or harm to others.
- Impersonation. Pretending to be another person, a business, or us — in your handle, your name, your badge photo, or anywhere else.
- Other people’s private information. Posting someone else’s personal details, or photographs of people who would not want them shared.
- Illegal activity, or anything that infringes someone else’s intellectual property.
- Spam and commercial use. Advertising, promotions, bulk invitations, or using Yuzh to market anything.
- Attacking the service. Breaking or circumventing the app’s security, reverse-engineering it to get at other people’s data, scraping, automating accounts, hammering our servers, or trying to discover whether a particular handle exists in bulk.
Reporting someone
Every person’s page in the app has a menu with three things in it:
- 86 them — quietly remove them from your crew. They are not told.
- Block them — they can no longer find you, reach you, or see anything of yours. This takes effect immediately and does not wait for us.
- Report them — tell us what happened, and why.
We review every report and act within 24 hours. Depending on what we find, we may remove content, remove a handle, or remove the account entirely. We do not tell the person who reported them who they were, and we do not tell the person reported who reported them.
You can also report anything to us directly at support@deezlabz.com. Inside the app, shaking your phone opens a report at any time.
While Yuzh is in beta
Yuzh is pre-release software distributed through Apple’s TestFlight. Things will break, screens will change, and features may be removed. Beta builds stop working 90 days after they are released.
Your diary lives on your phone first, and we take migrating it seriously — but this is beta software, and you should not treat it as the only copy of anything you would be upset to lose. Please tell us when something goes wrong; shaking the phone is the fastest way.
Ending it
You can stop using Yuzh whenever you like. Settings → delete account removes your account and your synced data from our servers and leaves the copy on your phone alone, because it is yours. Some records are kept afterwards for safety — blocks, reports filed about an account, and the fact that a handle was once held — so that deleting an account cannot be used to undo them. The privacy policy explains exactly what is kept.
We can suspend or end your access if you break these rules, if we are required to by law, or if we have to in order to protect somebody. For anything other than a serious breach we will tell you why.
The app itself
We give you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use Yuzh on devices you own. The app, its name, and its design are ours; your food is yours.
Yuzh identifies restaurants using Apple Maps and analyses photos you choose to take using an AI service. Those parts are described in the privacy policy. We don’t promise that a dish the app guesses is correct, or that a restaurant it suggests is the one you are standing in — you confirm both, every time.
Apple is not a party to these rules and is not responsible for Yuzh. Where Apple’s standard licence terms for App Store applications apply to your use of the app, they apply alongside these rules; where the two conflict on your rights as against Apple, Apple’s terms win.
No promises, and limits
Yuzh is provided as it is. We do not warrant that it will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that it will preserve any particular data — and during the beta, we specifically do not.
To the fullest extent the law allows, Deez Labz, LLC is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, and our total liability to you for anything arising out of Yuzh is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the previous twelve months (during the beta, that is nothing) or twenty US dollars. Some places do not allow these limits, in which case they do not apply to you.
Changes, and the law
If these rules change in a way that matters, the app will say so. Continuing to use Yuzh after that means the new version applies.
These rules are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to its conflict-of-laws provisions, and the courts of California have jurisdiction — except where the law where you live gives you the right to bring a claim somewhere else, in which case it does.
